Meet Our Team
Teen Christian Counseling — Faith-Integrated Support for Every Stage of Adolescence
You face seemingly endless challenges as a modern teenager. Our approach to Christian counseling for teens integrates Biblical truth with evidence-based methods, ensuring that each session is grounded in both Scripture and proven therapeutic techniques — combining clinical care with biblical wisdom and spiritual support to foster resilience and healing rooted in faith.
Set healthy boundaries
Like many teens, you might struggle to set and maintain healthy boundaries. Christian counseling helps you establish respectful limits that promote emotional safety and growth, while still honoring your independence.
Conflict management
You are just learning to navigate the adult world. Teen Christian counseling familiarizes you with the framework for appropriate conflict management between family and friends.
Improving communication
You and your parents don't have to get up in arms over every disagreement. Learn how to communicate effectively and maturely through Christian therapy for adolescents.
Your mind and body are constantly changing as you transform from a child into an adult. Faith-based counseling integrates biblical wisdom with evidence-based methods to help teens navigate these changes. Counselors often use approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) within a spiritual framework — combining professional therapy with biblical truth.
Christian counseling for teens frequently involves parents in the therapeutic process and connects teens with a supportive faith community, fostering lasting growth and encouragement. Teenage Christian counseling services identify healthy, Bible-based tools you can use to navigate these struggles.
Emotional health
Anxiety, depression, and stress managed through CBT and faith-based coping strategies.
Relationships
Communication, conflict resolution, and building healthy connections with peers and family.
Spiritual identity
Exploring faith questions, addressing doubt, and understanding your identity in Christ.
Risky behaviors
Self-harm, substance use, and intense anger addressed early before small struggles become crises.
Obstacles like anger, disobedience, and temptations are a part of our time on Earth. Teens may also struggle with heart idols such as peer approval, academic success, or social media validation — and counseling helps them recognize and address these false sources of identity.
God's truth and God's Word provide the foundation for understanding and overcoming these struggles. Our counselors help you understand why the adults in your life have specific rules while pointing you toward what the Bible says about common adolescent concerns.
Mental health is a vital part of every teen's journey toward wholeness, shaping not only how they feel but also how they relate to God, family, and friends. During the teenage years, emotional and mental health concerns can surface in many forms — anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and more.
Christian counseling for teens recognizes these struggles and offers a safe space where young people can be honest about their feelings and experiences. By combining Biblical principles with evidence-based therapeutic techniques, a Christian counselor helps teens and their families take proactive steps toward healing. Addressing mental health early empowers teens to overcome challenges and grow in faith, resilience, and hope.
"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path."
— Psalm 119:105
The role of parents & family
Parents and family members are essential partners in a teen's emotional and mental health journey. Family sessions address family conflict, strengthen relationships, and develop practical strategies for maintaining a loving, Christ-centered home.
When the whole family is involved, healing and growth become a shared journey.
Developing healthy relationships
Christian counseling equips teens with tools to build positive, supportive connections with peers, family, and authority figures through effective communication, conflict resolution, and emotional intelligence.
A Christian counselor guides teens to develop a strong sense of self-worth rooted in God's truth.
Finding your place
Part of adolescence involves finding where you belong in your Christian community. The church serves as a supportive and nurturing community, offering mentorship, peer support, and opportunities for spiritual growth.
Counseling helps you explore spiritual questions and understand your identity in Christ.
Faith-based coping strategies
Teens are encouraged to turn to prayer, scripture journaling, and creative expression as ways to manage anxiety, depression, and other emotional struggles.
Christ-centered mindset
With the guidance of a Christian counselor, teens learn to identify and challenge negative thought patterns, embrace a Christ-centered mindset, and grow in self-awareness and self-compassion.
Overcoming specific challenges
Counseling provides support for overcoming substance abuse, eating disorders, and other mental health concerns — helping teens develop the confidence and emotional intelligence needed to thrive.
Group therapy & community
Group therapy allows teens to connect with peers facing similar challenges, fostering a sense of community and support through talk or art therapy geared toward teens and their families.
Christian counseling for teens takes place online and in person. We provide online sessions throughout Pennsylvania. In-person appointments are available to teens located in Western Pennsylvania.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my teen needs Christian counseling?
Common signs include ongoing anxiety, depression, anger outbursts, withdrawal from family/church, declining grades, risky behaviors (self-harm, substance use, excessive screen time), identity struggles, or spiritual doubts. If these issues persist for more than a few weeks and affect daily life, counseling can provide targeted support.
Will the counselor tell my parents everything we talk about?
Confidentiality is important. Counselors generally keep sessions private, but they are required to break confidentiality if there is risk of harm to the teen or others (suicidal thoughts, abuse, etc.). Many counselors also work collaboratively with parents while respecting the teen’s privacy where appropriate.
Is Christian counseling just Bible reading, or does it include real therapy techniques?
It combines both. At Grace Christian Counseling, they integrate evidence-based clinical methods (like CBT) with Biblical truth. It’s not “just prayer” — it’s professional counseling that honors faith while using proven therapeutic tools
How long does counseling usually last for teens?
It varies. Some teens see improvement in 6–12 sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support (several months). The counselor will work with you and your teen to set clear goals and regularly evaluate progress.
Can parents attend sessions with their teen?
Yes, family involvement is often encouraged. Some sessions may be teen-only, some with parents, and some full family sessions, depending on the goals and what works best for your situation.
What if my teen doesn’t want to go to counseling?
This is very common. A good Christian counselor is skilled at building rapport and helping reluctant teens feel safe. Many teens warm up once they realize the counselor isn’t there to judge them but to help them.
Will counseling help strengthen my teen’s faith?
Many families report that counseling not only helps with emotional struggles but also deepens the teen’s relationship with God by addressing doubts, building resilience, and applying Scripture in practical ways.
Is this just religious advice or real therapy?
It is professional therapy that thoughtfully integrates evidence-based clinical techniques (such as CBT) with Biblical truth and a Christian worldview.
Is online counseling available to people outside Pennsylvania?
Yes. Online sessions are available to anyone, while in-person sessions are limited to those in Pennsylvania.
How much does it cost?
Please contact us directly for current rates, insurance options, and payment plans.
Grace’s Counseling Blueprint
Walking into church with visible physical wounds brings immediate care—but emotional and spiritual injuries often go unnoticed. Grace Christian Counseling addresses this gap by meeting believers where they are, whether through face-to-face sessions or online counseling throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Florida and Georgia. This accessibility ensures no one suffers alone simply because location or schedule creates barriers to faith-integrated care.
Integrating Biblical & Clinical Care
Grace Christian Counseling treats faith and evidence-based practice as inseparable threads in the healing process. While some approaches view Scripture and psychology as competing frameworks, research demonstrates that faith-based interventions produce improved outcomes for Christian clients compared to standard secular approaches. This isn’t about adding prayer to traditional therapy—it’s about recognizing that spiritual health and emotional well-being function as a foundation for comprehensive healing.
Licensed therapists at Grace Christian Counseling integrate cognitive-behavioral techniques, trauma-informed care, and attachment theory while grounding treatment in biblical truth. A client struggling with anxiety doesn’t simply learn breathing exercises; they explore how faith-integrated practices address both neurological stress responses and spiritual warfare. This dual-focus approach acknowledges that clinical diagnoses and spiritual battles often coexist, requiring practitioners trained in both domains to navigate the complexity effectively.

See What Others Are Saying
I have received incredible support from Grace Wellness Center for several years now. The Center does a wonderful job of caring for people individually. I meet with my counselor online. At first I was concerned how it would feel compared to counseling in person but the care I have received has been excellent. They also have in-person services as well where I'm confident you'd receive the same incredible service and care.
God definitely lead me and my wife to Grace Wellness Center. Biblical based counseling has added so much to our marriage. We have also referred others who always speak highly of their experience.
My experience was always so pleasant. Everyone was welcoming and friendly (they have a therapy dog that walks the hallways sometimes. So gentle and sweet!). My counselor has done an incredible job pushing me and hearing me and helping me grow.
Amazing therapists! You can tell they love what they do and love Jesus!! Thank you Grace Wellness Center.
