Christian Anxiety Counseling In Person & Online
When worry takes over
Signs It May Be Time for Anxiety Counseling
Everyone feels anxious sometimes. Anxiety becomes a problem when it is frequent, hard to control, and starts shaping your choices, your sleep, your relationships, or your walk with God.
If several of these sound familiar, talking with a counselor can help.
Worry you can't turn off
Your mind keeps running through what-ifs, even when you know the worry is out of proportion.
Physical symptoms
A racing heart, tight chest, stomach trouble, headaches, or muscle tension with no clear medical cause.
Restless nights
Trouble falling asleep or staying asleep because your thoughts won't slow down.
Panic attacks
Sudden waves of intense fear with a pounding heart, shortness of breath, or a sense that something terrible is happening.
Avoidance
Skipping places, people, or tasks because of how anxious they make you feel.
Intrusive thoughts
Unwanted thoughts or doubts, sometimes about faith or morality, that you feel you have to neutralize or check.

How counseling helps
Proven Anxiety Treatment, Integrated With Faith
Our counselors use evidence-based approaches with strong research support for anxiety. Faith is part of your care to the degree you choose.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT helps you notice anxious thought patterns, test them against reality and God's truth, and practice new ways of responding.
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
ERP is the leading treatment for OCD. With your counselor's support, you gradually face fears without compulsions, so the anxiety loses its grip.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing helps when anxiety is tied to painful memories, reducing the emotional charge those memories carry.

Questions About Christian Anxiety Counseling
What is Christian anxiety counseling?
It is licensed, evidence-based anxiety treatment, such as CBT, ERP, and EMDR, provided by counselors who share a Christian worldview and can integrate prayer and Scripture into sessions when you want them to.
Is anxiety a sign of weak faith?
No. Anxiety is a real condition with physical, emotional, and spiritual effects. Seeking help is a wise and faithful step, not a failure of trust in God.
How long does anxiety counseling take?
It varies. Many people notice meaningful progress within 8 to 16 sessions of focused work, while others continue longer for complex or long-standing anxiety. Your counselor will review progress with you along the way.
Do you treat OCD and religious scrupulosity?
Yes. Our counselors use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the leading treatment for OCD, including OCD centered on religious or moral fears.
Can I do anxiety counseling online?
Yes. Online Christian counseling is available through a secure video platform, and many people with anxiety find it easier to start from home.
Does insurance cover anxiety counseling?
In most cases, yes. We accept most major insurance plans, PA Medical Assistance in Allegheny and Westmoreland Counties, CHIP, and many EAPs. Our care team checks your benefits before your first session.
Do I need medication for anxiety?
Not always. Counseling alone helps many people. If medication might help, your counselor can talk with you about it and, with your permission, coordinate with your doctor.
